Veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, recently appointed as festival director of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), has unveiled plans to expand the 55-year-old Goa-based event’s scope. Plans include the launch of a Waves, a technology-focused companion to the main festival.

Principal photography for the forthcoming romantic drama kicked off over a week ago in Ghana's capital city, Accra. Produced by Edith Nwekenta, the star-studded romantic drama is set to follow the story of a woman who sets out on a self discovery journey to the motherland from Atlanta. ADVERTISEMENT In the lead role is Hollywood actress LisaRaye McCoy. She stars alongside Brely Evans, Sika Osei, Erica Pinkett, Osas Ighodaro, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, Toyin Abraham, Mawuli Gavor, Ayinna Nwigwe and Eddie Watson Jnr.

That’s because Cuban-born Rodriguez, a former president and creative director of Wilke-Rodriguez menswear, is tapping into the current craze for Latin-inspired fashion with a new lifestyle label produced in association with the Men’s Wearhouse.
