Here's the Whole Story of What Happened to the Red Jeep

A viral red jeep that was stuck on Myrtle Beach when Hurricane Dorian hit the South Carolina shore was removed by authorities on Friday morning. The red jeep quickly captured the attention of the public and launched “jeep watch 2019” on Thursday after it was found stuck in the sand near the Myrtle Beach shoreline. The Myrtle Beach Police Department tells TIME that when officers were called to the scene, they discovered the SUV was locked and abandoned.

Hiro Murai on Directing 'Atlanta,' 'Station Eleven' and More

In the early 2010s, Hiro Murai was a Los Angeles-based music-video director, working regularly with the local Odd Future music collective—which included Frank Ocean, Earl Sweatshirt, and Tyler, the Creator, among others—as well as making the occasional video for musicians like Death Cab for Cutie, Usher, Lupe Fiasco, St. Vincent, and the Shins. Much of his work was strange, in the best way—his 2012 video for Earl Sweatshirt’s “Chum” featured a frog as a stand in for the rapper.

Of course, in the universe of the Alien movies, that damage has already been done. Beginning in 1979 with Ridley Scott's iconic sci-fi thriller Alien, the franchise has been instilling a deep-seated fear in viewers of predatory endoparasitoid extraterrestrials that go bump in space.

How the Model Minority Myth of Asian Americans Hurts Us All

The face of Tou Thao haunts me. The Hmong-American police officer stood with his back turned to Derek Chauvin, his partner, as Chauvin knelt on George Floyd’s neck for 8 minutes and 46 seconds and murdered him. In the video that I saw, Tou Thao is in the foreground and Chauvin is partly visible in the background, George Floyd’s head pressed to the ground. Bystanders beg Tou Thao to do something, because George Floyd was not moving, and as he himself said, he could not breathe.
